![]() In the examples, I have used a fresh version of Mavericks 10.9.5 and an un-launched copy of GarageBand, but the process is almost identical for Logic Pro X and for when Apple releases an additional content package.ġ. With a modular image, or if Apple release an updated content package, you need to use another technique. With a monolithic image, this is simple as the loops can be downloaded and included in the image. The question is how to catch and include these content packages. In environments that manage their Mac devices (particularly Education departments) they will need to deploy these additional content packages with GarageBand and Logic Pro, otherwise users face a lengthy wait on first launch. When these Applications are first launched, they try to download and install the content, with this totally over 10s of GBs of data (especially for Logic)! Additionally, Apple will occasionally release new content packages, which are then downloaded the next time the Application is launched. To minimise the download size of GarageBand and Logic Pro X Applications, the content / music loops were separated. A little ago, Apple stopped shipping iLife suite installers for GarageBand, iWeb, iDVD, iPhoto and iMovie and instead utilised the Mac App Store for these products, as well as for Logic Pro X. Now some Mac admins prefer to use network packet capture tools such as “Charles Web Proxy” however the method I suggested uses no additional applications and requires a lower technical skill level to do. ![]() When the options weren’t grayed out is when I first imported the RX2 ile, then dragged it in Loop Browser or rendered, then dragged that new loop out on the track, then dragged that again into the loop browser and this time those options were available, also on the region of the track it has a Follow Tempo check box, so it seems to work but then that file exported for iPad still doesn’t follow tempo.Back in November, I had a conversation over Twitter with about how to capture and deploy the GarageBand loop installers. The other thing to add is that the options are grayed out (Loop and One shot options which reference tempo in their descriptions). How do I get that little loop icon to show on the track region? Even then I tried another loop that had that loop symble, still doesn’t follow tempo on iPad. Again, one time I did it successfully but maybe the original loop was different somehow. Even when I render as apple loop and turn on flex, it still doesn’t give the “Follow Tempo” option. It is not a techncial loop as you say it’s an RX2 file that converts or “don’t fix” or “Render as Apple loop”. When I drag them into Logic, it renders it as a file. Thanks much for the reply, the issue is the “loops” Disco House drum loops, are RX2 files. It would be great to be able to do this without stretching manually, and it was possible for one of my loops but repeating the steps didn’t work. Can anyone tell me what I may be doing wrong and the proper way to get the Follow Tempo options on all loops I export, or why one will work but the other won’t? One one of the loops, when I imported into GB, I tapped Settings on the section and it had the Follow Tempo toggle! I was excited but then tried the same thing with another loop and it would only stay stuck on the GB project tempo and when I tapped Settings, there was only a Loop toggle, meaning it didn’t follow tempo. Now the wierd thing is, is that I thought I had it once after trying multiple combinations of saving the loop and also trying to embed project tempo or remove it, making sure Flex is enabled. Then I export that section on the track to my iCloud drive and import on my iPad. I make sure the track has Flex (Automatic or Speed) enabled. My process has been, drag the RX2 file into Logic Pro X, it asks do I want to Render in to Apple Loop (which I understand is suppose to tag tempo information) and I’ve also tried Render as file (WAV export). My net searches show that Flex tempo enabled should allow the option “Follow Tempo” in the track in Garageband, which then lets the beat go at whatever tempo I choose in GB. ![]() The loops have folders that indicate a BPM (110, 120) but I want to have it flex with whatever tempo I have set on my Garageband project when I import the loop in the loop browser. I have a pack of RX2 loops that I’m trying to use for my iPad Garageband. ![]() I’ve searched the net for this and get different answers but can’t seem to find a straightforward solution.
